City of Fort St. John receives Boundary Extension approval from Province

first_imgFORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Provincial Government has issued an Order in Council which approved the City of Fort St. John’s Boundary Extension application. The application was submitted on November 15, 2016.A total of 107 properties will now be added into the City and inclusion of 665 hectares (1643.25 acres) into the City’s boundaries is consistent with the “City’s need to manage growth into the future”.Mayor Lori Ackerman said the extension is important.“It is important that, as a Municipality, we create opportunities for appropriate and sustainable development that ensures the success of our northern communities.”- Advertisement -MLA Pat Pimm also commented saying he is pleased the government approved the application.“I am very pleased to see the Government support the City’s request for a boundary extension.
