Rep. Claman(D-Anc): “I think we all can stand in unity with the community of Orlando and the people who suffered a terrible tragedy yesterday and I would ask that the body stand for a moment of silence in memory of all who died and all who were injured and family and friends. It’s a tremendous loss to all in our country and I think we stand with those people.” The State Senate will not have a floor session until Thursday. In the Alaska House of Representatives, Rep. Matt Claman made the request before legislators again turned to discussions of the State budget and changes to the Alaska Permanent Fund. The Permanent Fund bill was passed by the Senate last week and was referred to the House Finance committee. The House also scheduled tax bills which would raise taxes on highway fuels and mining for Tuesday.
